1967: the first touch screen was born. It is generally believed that E.A. Johnson of the Royal Radar Research Institute in Marvin is the first person in the world to put forward the concept of touch screen. In 1965, the ordinary computer researcher wrote in the electronic bulletin Letters magazine published a brief paper touch panel: a new computer input device, in which I described my vision of capacitive touch screen: the main body of the screen is a composite glass screen, the inner surface is coated with a layer of metal oxide called ITO, four electrodes at four corners. When the finger touches the glass screen, due to the electric field of the human body, it will form a capacitance between the finger and the metal layer inside the glass, thus "sucking" a small amount of current at this position. This "leakage" current flows from four electrodes, and theoretically the part that flows through the different electrodes is proportional to the distance between the fingers and the electrodes. Through the precise calculation of the controller, the position of the fingers can be accurately obtained.
Two years later, Johnson turned this idea into reality, creating the first touch screen in human history, and published the photos and basic schematic diagram of the touch screen in a magazine called ergonomics. This is a bulky but refreshing screen. Under Johnson's design, there is even a magic effect: no matter where the finger points, the screen will shine.
The differences between TN screen and IPS screen are as follows:
1. Different perspective limit replication
Because of the manufacturing principle, the TN screen can not rotate the viewing angle too much when viewing, otherwise the content on the screen will not be seen, so the film compensation film technology can be used to increase the viewing angle to 170 °.
The IPS screen does not have these restrictions. You can see the content on the screen perfectly at an angle of 178 °
2. Different gamut
TN screen is the original panel of 6bit, which can only display 64 colors of red, green and blue. The maximum actual color is only 262144. Through "dithering" technology, it can be increased to more than 16 million colors, but the maximum number of color displays is only 16.2 million.
IPS screen can display more colors, and its color accuracy is better than TN screen.
