WIWOTOUCH has many years of experience in the development and production of PCAP touch panels, providing high quality input systems for a wide range of applications, developing and designing optimal solutions for use in particularly demanding conditions.
PCAP touch panels for use in extreme environmental conditions require a special design and such systems must be able to withstand higher demands for safe daily operation in outdoor applications. How is this achieved?
Outdoor applications differ from indoor applications in many ways. Outdoor applications must meet higher temperature and weathering specifications for use in extreme weather conditions. To meet these challenges, there are weatherproof and functionally stable PCAP touch panel solutions specifically designed for outdoor applications.
Outdoor touch panel applications are exposed to direct sunlight. As a result, prolonged exposure to UV rays can damage the material and cause the touch sensor to turn yellow, cloudy, blister and even crack. These optical defects not only reduce the light transmission of the touchscreen, but also degrade its appearance. The wavelength of UV light (100nm to 400nm) is beyond the range of visible light, and WIWOTOUCH can provide UV-resistant touchscreens. In addition, fully laminated OCA adhesive can effectively reduce UV damage to the display.
User touch for outdoor applications is usually recommended to be printed with ceramic ink. This ink does not change easily under the influence of UV light, has high stability and does not fade off easily.
In addition to the stability of the sensor, a controller is required that meets this operating temperature range. the PCAP system must also be able to automatically compensate for changes in capacity caused by strong temperature changes in the environment. Special algorithms ensure this in the firmware of the controller used. Depending on the application and its specific requirements, ILITEK or EETI controllers are preferred.
