Capacitive Touch Screens commonly found in smart phones and tablets, capacitive touch screens only use a single layer with an electrical charge. When you touch the screen with your finger, your body temporarily absorbs some of the electricity, similar to how your body transfers electricity when touching a metal surface. A touch screen uses so little electricity, however, that you won't feel a shock. This change in charge indicates the place where you touched the device. This mechanism won't work with touch from nonconductive materials such as a plastic stylus or most gloves, but can support multiple simultaneous touches. Capacitive screens also have better visual quality than resistive touch screens, as the dual layers in resistive screens can reflect light.

The capacitive touch screen is a product of 2 layers glass compouned together with transparent conductive sheet glue in high temperature with professional equipments. The transparent conductive coating conducts a continuous electrical current accross the sensor of ITO. The electrode pattern printed along the edges distributes a low voltage filed over the conductive layer. And our human body is an conductor too which has stored electrons and exhibits capacitance too. Therefore, when your finger touches t he screen and draw a minute amount of current to the point of contact,which creates a voltage drop. The current flow coming from each corner is proportional to the distance to the touch point. When you touch it, the capacitance exists between the finger and the sensor grid. The touch location is claculated from the changing of electrical characteristics of the sensor grid. The touchscreen replaces the mouse and wires between people and machines. This makes our life more and more easy and convenient.
