Projected capacitive technology (multi-touch):
Projected capacitive touch screens offer more durability, reliability and optical clarity than other technologies. This technology is widely used in gaming machines, ATM devices, kiosks, entertainment interactive facilities, industrial equipment and point-of-sale and so on.
So, what is the principle of projected capacitive touch screens? This technology detects touch by measuring the capacitance of each addressable electrode. When a finger or conductive contact approaches an electrode, it disturbs the electromagnetic field and changes the capacitance. This change in capacitance can be electronically measured and then converted into X and Y positions that the system can use to detect touch and thus achieve a touch effect.
What is multi-touch?
Multi-touch refers to the ability of a touch system to detect and resolve at least 3 or more contacts simultaneously.
